But you will find that not all Christians are singing along with this kind of popular music. Why is that?

It’s important to consider why this type of hymnal music is not as well-loved by many Christians. It’s sad but true that the very common denominators between POPULAR FAST WORSHIP SONGS and traditional Christian worship music do not mesh well with some churchgoers. Many churches have avoided music like this because they find it inappropriate or even too secular. If you’re a regular listener of these kinds of songs on the radio, then you have probably already discovered how difficult it is to find an appropriate hymn that fits your faith.

If you’re unfamiliar with what a hymn is supposed to say, then allow me to explain it to you. A hymn is a written composition intended to praise God or dedicate a specific item within the service or worship setting. Most Christians will choose a specific song or collection of songs to praise God in their worship. They’ll find songs appropriate to include in their worship programs or sermons, or they’ll decide to use one of the countless Christian Songs found in the Bible or on the Internet.

When it comes to Christian Music and hymns, there are thousands of choices. In addition to popular favorites like “O Holy Night”, “Hark the Herald Angels Sing”, “Silent Night”, and “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen”, you’ll find lesser-known popular songs as well. But even if you don’t know many of the words to these songs or haven’t been introduced to them through other Christian Music forms, you can still recognize them by the sound of the tune. When I was a kid, my parents would play these popular Christmas songs on our radio. Now, there’s nothing wrong with that. As I mentioned earlier, people love to hear Christmas music, and they’re used to hearing songs like that on the radio as well.

The problem comes when you’re trying to figure out which song is appropriate for your service. Many people simply listen to popular music, like their parents and grandparents. It’s common in our day-to-day lives to turn on the radio and hear several different popular hymns. That’s fine if you like the song, but if you want to read about its lyrics or worshipfully praise its message, this can be very overwhelming. There are so many hymns to choose from that it can feel overwhelming.

Another way to deal with this issue is to make a list of hymns that you like. Then, you can narrow your search even further by looking specifically for hymns that fit your Christian lifestyle or religion. For example, if you belong to a church where Jesus is worshiped, there are likely going to be hymns that have something to do with Him, like a message of praise. On the other hand, if you’re just looking for a nice and uplifting song to put on your iPod, there are many free choices that you can pick up.

You’ll find that the best hymns often speak to God or are about Him. But even then, you’ll find that there are many genres of songs for just this purpose. If you want a religious message, some hymns fit that bill. On the other hand, if you want to praise someone else, there are Christian-themed hymns that fit that need.

It’s possible to make a song list like this, but it’s much more fun to sit down and write the hymns yourself. There’s nothing worse than running into a song that you love, only to find that it’s not exactly what you think it is. Luckily, creating your lists of favorite songs is easy. Just find a few hymns that you like and then decide whether you’ll use one or all of them. You can make a chart or logline of your favorite songs and then use this as a point of reference when you go to look for popular songs to play for worship.
