How Successful People Make the Most of Their EDM Christian Music

Christian Electronic Music

EDM Christian music, also referred to as EDM, is a style of hip-hop and electronic dance music that emerged in the 1990s. The term itself may be confusing because although EDM does incorporate elements of rap, hip-hop, pop, dance, and techno music, it draws from many other sources as well. EDM draws upon influences such as reggae, soul, and breakbeat. As a result, many people incorrectly assume EDM to be a sub-genre of rap. In fact, EDM is very different from rap because it is a true fusion of many musical styles. Christian EDM draws from three primary sources of music that are Christian, influenced by religion, and urban.

The origin of EDM Christian music can be traced back to the United States and Canada. The early incarnations of this music genre were primarily Christian based and Christian rap and R&B music was largely absent. However, as the years wore on and more focus was placed upon the growth of this dance music genre, it began to gain more attention from mainstream audiences. EDM Christian music has grown to include a wide variety of sounds and styles. While the original Christian and rap EDM did not feature the sampling of sampling and rhythmic beats that are common in modern hip hop, classic Christian dance music and EDM Christian music have both gained and lost popularity over time.

Early crossover hits for EDM Christian music included songs by artists associated with the Christian faith, such as Luther Vandross, and Billy Ray Cyrus. Artists such as Faith Hill, Young Jeezy, and Luther Vandross drew from their own backgrounds in gospel and Christian rock in order to create hit songs that bridged the gap between old world Christian radio and modern electronic dance music popularity increased universally. The popularity of these tracks helped the EDM Christian music genre to grow and become an international sensation. Unfortunately, the global economic collapse of the late eighties led to a decline in Christian pop music opportunities. This decline affected the Christian music industry worldwide and led to the creation of subgenres like breakcore.

The term “EDM” itself originally referred to “electronic Christian music,” though references to “Christian electronic dance music” became common, and eventually led to the broader usage that we use today. At this point, the term “EDM” generally refers to any and all forms of Christian music, regardless of denomination or faith. These days, however, EDM is being used to describe traditional, contemporary Christian worship music created using traditional instruments and acoustic guitar arrangements. Classic rock and Christian radio songs are often mixed together in new EDM albums to create new and exciting soundscapes. The influences of the blues, progressive rock, metal, and more can be found throughout the entirety of many new christian electronic dance music albums.

When it comes to creating new Christian music, many Christian artists have been drawn to the raw power of trance music, which has long been considered a form of Christian rap music. While most trance music tends to feature drum beats and minimal guitar riffs, Christian rappers have been able to blend these two elements with Christian music to create new and exciting takes on classic topics. In many cases, EDM artists are influenced by both traditional rock and Christian worship music, weaving the two together into a hybrid new experience that gives them both a unique sound. EDM artists may also decide to take their sound in a new direction, going from classic EDM and trance music to something a little bit more “out there.” Taking the sound of “free flowing” vocals and guitar riffs and making them work in place of worship songs can make for an interesting addition to your CD or radio play list.

If you’ve never heard of a “EDM” before, then you’re certainly not alone! Electronic Dance Music is taking the world by storm, especially in the Christian realm. Many Christians have discovered the benefits of this type of music for Sunday morning worship, special gatherings, and private nights out as a special treat for friends and family. It’s a truly unique blend of traditional worship music mixed with the latest trance-like technology that gives EDM an entirely new feel and appeal.

Most Christian musical artists will dabble in EDM in one way or another; it’s a fun genre to embrace because of its unique sound. But, many Christian musicians have decided to take it to a whole other level. They have created their own brand of christian trance music, bringing a whole new depth to worship music for the Christian believer. If you love EDM but don’t love Christian music, now is your chance to give them a whirl! These artists specialize in bringing the best of both genres together to create fresh, innovative, and soulful Christian electronic dance music.

By incorporating EDM into your regular Christian songs, you can take what you love about EDM and use it to grow your music career and fan base. Imagine having a large amount of people listening to your favorite Christian songs all at the same time. In addition, fast christian trance is becoming very popular in the church community and you can take advantage of this by putting some fast, smooth, and powerful Christian songs on your radio station. Imagine the power of walking your congregation through a special song from the new Christian song genre. There are only so many ways you can creatively express your faith!
